While the internet has provided unprecedented access to knowledge and educational resources, the challenge now is how to properly harness this resource so as to make it work in preparing the child's future. Simply giving a child a computer and internet access cannot and will not, guarantee either learning or a future. How can you have an opinion on something you have never known? As the access to knowledge becomes easier with the spread of the Internet and access to everything from patent information to MIT class work and basic research papers approaches zero cost, the knowledge of an individual becomes limited by his/her interests and ability to understand. The import and realization of ideas is what is important in this new world. Developing student abilities to understanding, absorb and make sense of knowledge is the key role of the Idea source teacher.
